“I chose to be a surrogate because it was something I thought about for years. I could only imagine giving someone a gift of a child. I didn’t think it would actually become a reality though. I had a parent on my sons baseball team who was pregnant as carrying a surrogate baby. I started asking her questions and she was very open about it. I always through I had missed the window of age or being fit. She really encouraged me to reach out to GRACE Surrogacy. So I found myself doing just that. After I got off the phone with them I knew this was something I really wanted to do. So I introduced the idea to my family and they were supportive about it. I had 4 kids of my own, 3 biological and 1 adopted. My first match I was paired up with I didn’t feel that connection I was hoping for, I thought maybe I’m thinking too far into this. I notified GRACE and they said don’t worry it’s ok. A couple weeks later they paired me up again and instantly within minutes of talking to the parents I knew it was meant to be for them. It was the best journey ever. I never had any complications during pregnancy so I knew that would be the easy part. I think I was most scared of the injections of the hormones. But after awhile you get used to it and just count down the days until the injections are over. When the delivery time came and both parents were in the delivery room sharing the whole experience with us it was amazing. My heart was so full seeing them fall in love with their baby. The parents are amazing and we have continued to stay in touch. I feel like I’ve known them forever. I am very lucky to have chosen them and as well been given the chance to give them this gift of life. The GRACE team was so supportive as well and helped me every step of the way. They were always available and responded in a timely manner. They made sure anything I was unsure of or had questions about they always explained sometime more thorough than the doctors and nurses. The GRACE team and my surrogate parents made my journey so amazing and memorable”
